Prevail uses AI transcription technology to generate a rough transcript that participants can view and interact with in real time. Participants can flag lines for later review or add notations in the AI Transcript panel.

Speech Transcription

Prevail’s cutting-edge technology instantly transcribes speech while using machine learning to improve transcription accuracy. Instant transcription allows participants to view and flag transcriptions in real time, while machine learning produces accurate rough transcripts, which results in a faster turnaround for certification. Your copy of the rough AI-generated transcript is available after each session by accessing Session Review, or you can optionally purchase a Certified Transcript copy.

AI Transcript Panel

During a Session, you can follow along as dialogue is converted into text inside the panel. You can add flags with optional comments to highlight key points or create video clips to capture important moments. You can also use the Listen option to replay the selected audio in a new tab. If you would like to hear the audio replayed to session participants, simply raise your hand and request the session host play back specific lines.

Flag Sections of Transcripts

Add color-coded flags to selections of a rough transcript to highlight key points and keep track of specific lines of testimony by assigning colored labels. Similar to adding colored tabs to a transcript, flags allow you to quickly locate key points on your copy of the rough transcript. Choose colors and labels for your flags or add comments that can be made public or kept private. You can access your copy of the rough transcript with flags after each session in Session Review.

Flags added to multiple lines at once appear as vertical bars in the panel margin. Flagged sections have a tinted background to match the flag color. White lines across a Flag icon indicate a note within a flag.

1. On the Session Toolbar, click the AI Transcript icon.
2. In the AI Transcript panel, select one or more lines of text…
   1. To select a single line, click on a line of text.
   2. Optional: To select multiple lines, press and hold SHIFT as you click.
   3. Optional: To select a group of lines, click the first line, then press and hold SHIFT as you click the last line.
3. Click Add Flag.

   The Select Flag window opens.

4. From the Select Flag drop-down, select a flag from the list.
5. Optional:
   1. To create a new flag, click Add New.
   2. To add a comment, type a comment in the Optional note box.
   3. To hide your flag from other participants, select Make private.
6. Click Save.

   The flag is saved to your collection.

   The flag is available in Session Review.

Manage Your Flags

Create new flags and edit your existing flags from the Flag Settings window. Choose custom colors for your flags, rename flags, or delete flags using the window options.

1. Open the Settings window...
   1. From the Session Toolbar, click the Settings icon.

      The Settings menu opens.

   2. Click More Settings....

      The Settings window opens.

2. In the Settings window, click Flag Settings.
3. In the Add New Flag section, in the Flag name box, type a name for your flag.
4. In the Choose a Flag color section, click a Color from the pallet.
5. Optional: To assign a custom color...
   1. In the Choose a Flag color section, click the + circle icon.

      The Color Picker opens.

   2. Use the Color Picker options to create a custom color.
   3. To save the record, click + Add to Your Flags.

      The flag is saved to your collection.

Create Video Clips from Transcripts

Capture important moments by creating video clips from the rough transcript in the AI Transcript panel. Your clips are available after each Session in Session Review.

1. On the Session Toolbar, click the AI Transcript icon.
2. In the AI Transcript panel, select one or more lines of text…
   1. To select a single line, click on a line of text.
   2. Optional: To select multiple lines, press and hold SHIFT as you click.
   3. Optional: To select a group of lines, click the first line, then press and hold SHIFT as you click the last line.
3. Click Create Clip.

   The Create Clip window opens.

4. In the Name of Clip (required) box, type a name for your clip.
5. In the drop-down, select a participant name for the video feed.
6. Click Create.

   A Clip icon appears in the panel.

   The clip is available in Session Review.

Play Back Session Audio

You can also use the Listen option to replay the selected audio in a new tab. If you would like to hear the audio played back to Session participants, raise your hand and request that the Session Host play back specific lines.

1. On the Session Toolbar, click the AI Transcript icon.
2. In the AI Transcript panel, select one or more lines of text…
   1. To select a single line, click on a line of text.
   2. Optional: To select multiple lines, press and hold SHIFT as you click.
   3. Optional: To select a group of lines, click the first line, then press and hold SHIFT as you click the last line.
3. Click Listen.

   The audio file opens in a new tab.

4. Use the audio controls to play or pause the audio recording.
5. Optional: To adjust the volume, click the Volume button.
